Participating in an interfaith forum were Father David Halm, St. John Vianney Catholic Parish in Goodyear, Mufti Didmar Faja, Imam, United Islamic Center of Arizona in Glendale, Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan of Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley in Sun City, Pastor Pam Reynolds, Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, and Fay Henning-Bryant, past president of Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley.

Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley, 12202 N. 101st Ave., presented an interfaith educational forum Feb. 4, bringing together four religious leaders of the Catholic, Muslim, Protestant and Jewish faiths to respond to topics related to being a member of the clergy.

“A path to better understand in a conflicted world” panelists were Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan of Temple Beth Shalom, Father David Halm of St. John Vianney Catholic Parish in Goodyear, Imam Didmar Faja of United Islamic Center of Arizona in Glendale and Pastor Pam Reynolds of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West.

The clergy talked about differing theological beliefs, how their religion interprets the Bible and what challenges they face as members of the clergy today.

The clergy members attended a reception following the panel discussion at which people met and talked further with the panelists.

There was no charge for the event, but donations were made to support the efforts of the Valley View Community Food Bank.
