Sefaria.org invited me to participate in writing one Hebrew letter in a global Community Torah. This project reenacts the Mitzvah of writing a Torah that's creating a tangible tribute to our shared tradition. As they write, "Torah is the sacred glue binding all Jews together. Across generations and geographies, we’ve always turned to our sacred texts during difficult times, joyous times, and every day in between."
My letter Vav is from Genesis 7:3
גַּ֣ם מֵע֧וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם שִׁבְעָ֥ה שִׁבְעָ֖ה זָכָ֣ר וּנְקֵבָ֑ה לְחַיּ֥וֹת זֶ֖רַע עַל־פְּנֵ֥י כׇל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
of the birds of the sky also, seven pairs, male and female, to keep seed alive upon all the earth.
