Parque Nacional El Choco y Las Cuevas de Cabarete

Today we cycled through Parque Nacional El Choco y Las Cuevas de Cabarete. The National Park is 30 square miles of hiking trails through thick tropical forest along cacao and coffee trees, medicinal plants, and water-filled caves dating back millions of years. There are many species of birds, lizards, and bats. Much of the terrain was reddish-brown slightly clayish.
