Congratulations to Temple Beth Shalom member Karen Anne Greenberg Carnow who will be exhibiting her work at the Eisenberg Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska from July 1 to Aug. 1, 2023.

Karen is a painter and visual artist based in the beautiful southwestern United States. She was raised in a tight-knit Jewish community in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating from Westside High School, she moved to Arizona to attend university at Arizona State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Karen started her art career as a special needs art specialist in Mesa, Arizona and has been an art educator for over 30 years focusing on K-8 education.

In addition to her career as an art teacher, she created a preschool art program for Temple Chai, a reform synagogue in Phoenix, as well as having taught art classes for the Phoenix Public Library. Currently Karen is teaching at Brightmont Academy in Deer Valley as well as pursuing her own career as an artist.

In 2021, Karen created Dog Doodler, an art project where she creates bespoke pet portraits for all animals both living and those who have gone over the rainbow bridge. She did a beautiful picture of my 2 dogs, Lily and Skinny.

Pictured below is her artwork of a menorah on mixed canvas, which will be one of the pieces on exhibit.
