Pastor Joe A.M Rwemera invited me to a moving commemoration.
On August 13, 2004, an armed group attacked the UN's Gatumba refugee camp in Burundi, killing 166 people and wounding 106. The victims were mainly members of the Banyamulenge, a Congolese Tutsi ethnic group who were deliberately targeted in the attack. The camp is located in the small town of Gatumba, near Burundi's border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
